Within the 20th-century mystical revival the creation of Osiris or the protector of the sun god Re was separated from his archenemy Apep during his nighttime journey through the underworld This confused identity is well documented in late ancient Egypt where Seth continued to hold important positions in both temples and cults. Who was Seth? The Seth identity of Egyptian mystics and ancestors Seth is characterized by diverse aspects and roles in Egyptian mythology and pharaonic belief systems although his evil behavior is most evident in the Osiris myth where he is depicted as the murderer of Osiris and the enemy of Horus. But sometimes he appears to be a friend of Osiris such as in some pyramid spells where Seth is invoked.
