the New Kingdom of Egypt 1570 – 1070 AD Pharaoh Thutmose I invaded the region around 1500 BC. Nubia was renowned as the home of many powerful kingdoms the most notable of which was the Kushite Empire which conquered Egypt in the 8th century BC and founded the 25th Dynasty. The 25th Dynasty of Ancient Egypt was a special period in which a number of Nubian pharaohs and rulers came to power most of whom were fully assimilated into Egyptian culture. The Nubians brought some of their culture into Egypt but retained their own governance art forms religious traditions temples and construction methods.


The Nubians revived their tradition of building pyramids but were unsuccessful. The Nubians ruled parts of Egypt for about 100 years but were eventually defeated and driven out by the Assyrians. Ancient Egypt during the Mummy and Pyramid Period is often divided into periods ruled by dynasties lines of rulers who ruled as pharaohs. These dynasties actually began to rule Egypt around 3000 BC. The unification of Egypt was marked by the rise of hieroglyphics which were used to record information and became the written language of Egypt. These communities were located north of the first waterfalls in Upper Egypt and the Nile Delta in Lower Egypt. As in other areas the transition from foraging to farming was gradual. In Egypt it seems that the domestication of animals preceded the establishment of complex agricultural societies. Some evidence also suggests that some of the crops grown in Egypt were first grown in the fertile areas of Mesopotamia In the heart of northeastern Africa is the region of Nubia characterized by its fertile soil and ideal location along the Nile River.



Nubia served as the gateway to southern Egypt for thousands of years fostering the exchange of ideas technologies and diverse traditions. It was a cultural crossroads where the Nubian and Egyptian civilizations intersected. The pyramids were large structures used to store dead bodies and have been preserved for thousands of years. However Egyptian history began long before the pyramids were built. Before the reigns of King Tut and Cleopatra and even before the mummification process Nubia was not just an ancient landmass it was also home to some of the most honorable brave and strongest people the world has ever known. The Nubians were fierce warriors.
